MagLab Pro
Let your orders print themselves.
Set MagLab up once on a spare computer or a Raspberry Pi next to your printers. From then on it picks up each new order, prints the sheet and the address label, and tells your shop it's done.
What happens to one order
- An order comes in
From your shop, a hot folder or the API.
- MagLab lays it out
It fills the right template and adds the order number.
- It prints
Photos go to one printer, labels to another.
- Your shop is updated
The order is marked as printed.
Four ways for orders to arrive
Use whichever suits your shop, or several at once. They all end up in the same print queue.
- Order feeds
- MagLab checks your shop or backend on a schedule, prints each new order once, then tells your server it's printed in whatever format it expects. It works from behind any router or firewall; nothing needs to reach in.
- Webhooks from your shop
- Your shop sends each order to MagLab as it happens. A field-mapping language picks out photos, quantities and text, even from nested line items such as line_items[].properties[name=Photo].value.
- Hot folders
- Drop images, a CSV of addresses or a JSON order into a folder, on this computer or a shared network drive, and it's laid out and printed. Quantities come from the file names, and finished files are moved into a dated folder.
- The local API
- Queue jobs from your own scripts or a no-code tool with image URLs, file paths or uploads, check how they are doing, and get print-ready PDFs back. Interactive docs and an OpenAPI spec are built in.
Set it up once, and it runs untouched
- An order can use several printers at once: photo sheet on the inkjet, address label on the label printer.
- Every printer is checked before anything prints, so an order prints completely or not at all.
- Order numbers, customer names or any other order field can print on the sheet.
- If something fails, Retry prints only what didn't print. "Print again" reprints the lot.
- A queue with progress, an archive of every PDF and an activity log.
- It runs in the background, starts at login and carries on with the window closed.
A print station for the price of a Raspberry Pi
MagLab runs on a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5, so a small, quiet computer next to your printer can look after the orders all day.
- No monitor needed. Check on it from your Mac or PC.
- Other computers can drop jobs in a shared folder or send them to the API.
- Set everything up on your desktop, export it, and import it on the Pi.
An API for your own tools
Anything that can make an HTTP request can send MagLab a job.
- Image URLs, file paths, base64 or uploaded files
- Several documents per job, and order data for the sheet text
- Webhooks back to you when a job finishes or fails, signed with HMAC-SHA256
